Renault are attempting to bring a slice of French chic to Britain with their new Megane Experiment. The idea behind the experiment is to compare the sleepy Lancashire town of Gisburn with the arguably more stylish town of Menton on the Côte d’Azur – and ultimately discover whether or not the new Megane can change a town for the better.
Conducting the investigation is our French friend Claude, who himself hails from Menton. After meeting and greeting the Gisburn residents, Claude sets about explaining how the whole town could benefit from a little extra “Joie de Vivre”. The key indicator used for the test is the local rates of fertility in towns – and Claude is quick to reveal towns with more Meganes have higher fertility rates.
Renault have also set up a microsite, where the whole documentary can be viewed. Directed by Oscar-nominated director Henry-Alex Rubin, the program is certainly well constructed, not to mention very funny in places - some of the residents are equally as forthcoming as Claude with some of their own opinions on French culture!
In these entertaining video clips tasters, you can see Claude busy at work charming the people of Gisburn, as well as offering them a test drive in his smart new Renault Megane.

Had a boys’ night out? Lots of fun until you wake up in the morning and it feels like your head is going to explode and your stomach is going to detach itself from your body. Well gents, a hangover is a reasonable price to pay if you had a blast. But it doesn’t mean there is nothing you can do to cure it or at least, lower the pain level. Here are some tips.
1. Sleep. No, I’m not being sarcastic; you do need to get some more sleep to relieve the headache. Your body is craving it and needing it and you should give it.
2. Drink fruit juice. When you wake up in the morning, have a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice or other fruit juice. Alcohol can drain your body’s supply of vitamin C so you need to replace it.
3. Eat toast and eggs. If your stomach is heaving and you spent half the night throwing up, you need to replace what you lost. Try to eat a proper breakfast. Eggs would be ideal since they are rich in amino acid and can help flush out toxins. If you cannot manage to keep anything down, have a toast – it would help settle your stomach and ease the pain of the hangover and your stomach can take it.
4. Shower. Blast yourself with icy spray from the shower. Actually, it is better if you alternate between hot and cold.
5. Eat before drinking. This is more for “before,” rather than the “after.” Before you go out on a drinking binge, make sure that your stomach has something in it. The one thing that’s worse than a regular hangover is a hangover acquired with an empty stomach.

Baldness or receding hairline is a common problem among men. Sometimes, thinning hair can affect a man as young as 20 years old. Although the loss of hair is often associated with age, there are men who experience it at an earlier period than usual.
One of the possible causes is genetics. If baldness runs in the family, then it is highly likely that you will go the same route. Well, there really is nothing much that can be done about it, but you can always shave your head and still look cool and sexy since completely bald men do have a certain appeal.
Now, there are things that men do that can actually aggravate the condition, bring its early onset or cause him to get bald even though his genes are solid and he has no other medical condition that can precipitate it.
Too much fussing is one of these things. No one is telling you not to primp yourself up, but anything excessive is bad. If you use too much hair gel or other hair grooming substances, it can lead to your hair prematurely thinning out or falling off. If you like styling your hair in corn rows or braids, that could also contribute to the strands’ early retirement.
And of course, the usual culprits – heavy drinking, bad diet, lack of exercise and just plain bad hygiene. Baldness can be genetic or can be the cause of another medical condition. If you don’t fall under any of the two pre-mentioned criteria, then it is your fault. Learn to take care of your overall health and your hair will be fine.

High blood pressure or hypertension can occur in both men and women. Majority of men who suffer from hypertension are those aged 45 years or older. Hypertension can lead to more serious problems, like aneurysm, vision problems and heart failure.
Risk factors
One of the primary risk factors is age. Another is family history. Obesity, lack of physical activity and poor nutrition are also culprits. There are also instances when high blood pressure can be a result of other medical conditions or by medications being taken by the patient to cure a different health problem.
Minimizing the risk
The best way to minimize the risk of hypertension is to eat right. A diet laden with fresh vegetables and fruits is the best one to have. Cutting down on salt consumption and food with too much fat content can also help. Exercising or keeping active is also an effective way to battle hypertension. Maintaining a normal weight, cutting down on alcohol and not smoking are steps that should also be taken by men if they want their blood pressure to remain at a healthy level.
Medications
Although a healthy lifestyle is highly recommended to lower the chances of a man developing hypertension, there are also certain medications that are suggested by doctors if the condition is already present. Some of these drugs are beta blockers, diuretics, ACE inhibitors and ARB. Before trying any of these drugs, a consultation with a doctor is necessary. Although most of these drugs have been proven effective, leading a healthy lifestyle is still the best way to prevent hypertension.

Impotence or erectile dysfunction is a condition wherein a man is unable to obtain or sustain a full erection necessary for the completion of the sexual act. To have a healthy or complete erection, a man’s limbic system and pituitary gland should be intact and the level of testosterone should be normal.
Causes
There are a number of factors that can cause impotence; some are physical while others are emotional or psychological. Certain diseases like Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, diabetes and stroke can bring in erection problems. Injuries to the brain or the spinal cord and nerve damage can also cause it.
Anxiety, stress, depression and mental disorders like schizophrenia and panic disorder can also prevent a man from developing or maintaining an erection. Obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, drug use and aging are also factors behind this condition.
Treatment
The treatment option would depend on what’s causing the problem. Doctors might prescribe testosterone supplements if the cause is deficiency in hormones. The use of an external vacuum pump is also sometimes recommended, but this should only be explored if the doctor okayed it.
Medications like PDE5 inhibitors (Viagra or Levitra) are also used in some cases. If there is nothing wrong with the patient physically, various psychological and general health techniques are often recommended. Most common of these are counseling, relaxation steps like exercise and cutting down on alcohol intake. For overweight men, maintaining a normal, healthy weight is often the answer.
Men should seek the help of a doctor first before trying any of the oral medications or devices that supposedly work for erectile dysfunction. Adopting a healthy lifestyle can also go a long way towards solving this problem.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancers suffered from by men. It is slow in developing and symptoms do not usually manifest until the condition is already in the developed stage.
Symptoms
Some of the more common signs of this condition are bone pain, some swelling in the legs, discomfort in the pelvis, blood in the semen and the urine, urination problem and erectile dysfunction. Men who are 50 years old or older are more prone to this condition.
Some would have it but wouldn’t know it and might even die of other reasons, which means that what they have is the slow, harmless type. However, others may suffer from the fast-spreading type. No matter what type a man has though, he needs to see a doctor if he shows any of the symptoms or if he suspects that he has the condition.
Causes
The actual cause of this condition is yet to be determined, though there are a number of factors that can put a man at risk. One is age; older men are more likely to have the condition than younger men. Family history is also a risk factor, and so is being overweight.
Treatment
The most important thing to do is to get diagnosed and get advice from a doctor. Once it has been determined that the cancer is present, the doctor will suggest a treatment method based on what would be best for the patient. Some of the options are hormone therapy, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and surgery to remove the prostate.
